So I felt like being groundbreaking for once and not letting Rasmus get all the credit this time I've decided to try and experiment with the adaptation phase instead.

My idea: during pre-adjustment, don't bother with time between naps. Normally this is a bad thing because it throws you out of rhythm with your naps. Except... during pre-adjustment we're already out of rhythm right? So why not take advantage of this?

So, step by step from completely monophasic to a SPAMAYLer:
1)Begin to take naps throughout the day. Fit them in whenever you can really. They can be any duration, just as long as you are napping.
2)Get an alarm that is easy to keep reseting for 20 mins such as a kitchen timer ***
3)Set the alarm and go to sleep, as soon as it goes off, get up, reset it, go back to sleep. Do this all night.
4) Start staying awake for a minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes between naps. Make the increments as small as you feel is necessary (stay awake longer between some naps if you feel it is easy)
5) When you get to 20 minutes between naps you should notice that it is rather easy to stay awake for the next few hours, do this. Congratulations, you're polyphasic

*** I use this alarm because it's so simple: http://download.cnet.com/Cool-Timer/300 … 62255.html sleeping with headphones on is easier then it sounds

So far I am around stage 3 - 4. Even after a few hours of these 20 minute naps my body has already started to pre-emptively wake up. This is showing massive promise in my eyes, which is why I've posted this here.

I would like to invite anyone who wants to try this with me to join in! Especially people who haven't been adjusted to a schedule in the last few weeks. Input is also always encouraged! This is nothing that can't be tweaked

Oh, and for those everymaners out there, try doing this for your cores. Doing this I generally feel pretty good no matter when I have to get up.

However I have one concern and this is creativity. The lack of it to be exact. Some of the articles says that polyphasic sleeping lower the creativity level. Did you experience this loss of creativity? If you did experience it, was it only for the adjusting/adaptation or for the entire polyphasic phase in your life (or if you are still sleeping polyphasically, do you still experience it)?
